2024 Kona Electric

Everybody’s Catching The Kona Virus

10 years ago, if you’d have told a car enthusiast that the hype around a new model release was all about its EV variant, they’d have had a hard time believing you.

But the 2024 Hyundai Kona is right around the corner, and the talk of the town seems to be the Kona EV. If the grapevine is to be believed, it’s the next step in all-electric SUVs and puts forward a really solid case for the EV market.

Carolina Hyundai is gearing up for a late 2023 release for the newest Hyundai Kona, and if you’re interested in getting your hands on it, fill out the form at the bottom of the page and we’ll make sure you’re the first to hear all about it as soon as it’s available.

And if EVs aren’t your thing yet, and you’d rather stick to the original Kona, we’ve got you covered for that too. We can offer you a fantastic deal on a 2024 Hyundai Kona for sale in High Point and surrounding areas.

If you’d rather check out all the cars on offer in person, swing by our dealership on 2421 N Main St. in High Point. Our super-friendly staff is eager to help you find your dream ride.

What’s new in the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric?

This Kona is the start of something new for Hyundai. It gets a solid overhaul and should look significantly different from any of its predecessors.

For starters, it’s bigger. It sits taller than the previous model, has a wider wheelbase, and has more storage. Also, the size upgrade means it’s got room for a bigger battery, which means you can expect some good driving range on this one.

What other cars does the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric compare with?

You could argue that the Kona’s direct competitors are the Chevy Trax, the Ford EcoSport, or the Honda H-RV. But given that we’re talking exclusively about the electric version, only the Kia Niro can boast of an all-electric car in the same category.

What kind of performance can I expect from the 2024 Hyundai Kona?

You’ll be able to choose between two drivetrains for the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric. The base model comes with a single 133 hp-generating motor and a 48.6 kWh battery pack. It’s estimated driving range is 197 miles.

The higher-end model churns out a rugged 201 hp with a 64.8 kWh battery pack powering it, bumping up the driving range to a cool 260 miles on a single charge.

According to Hyundai, you can recharge the Kona Electric from 10% to 80% in just 41 minutes with a fast-charging DC outlet, which is groundbreaking, in our opinion.

While the gas-powered model of the Kona does offer AWD options, the electric model only offers FWD for now.

If you’re interested in a slightly bigger Hyundai SUV and are keener on a hybrid option, a new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid for sale in High Point and surrounding areas might be the right choice for you.

2023 Kona Electric

The Kona Konquers All

The electrifying new 2023 Hyundai Kona Electric is here at Carolina Hyundai of North Point, and we’re incredibly excited to share it with you. This next-generation subcompact SUV has all the makings of a bestseller and with it, Hyundai is REALLY making a case for itself in the all-electric segment.

Here, we’ll talk about our favorite features, and why you should absolutely consider the Kona Electric if you’re in the market for a smaller SUV.

I’m nervous about an all-electric vehicle. Is it for me?

While that depends on your individual situation and home setup (or even your expectations or usage of your vehicle), our short and sweet answer is—yes, EVs are for everyone. Quite simply, they’re the future, and that’s become increasingly clear over the last few years.

Plus, setting up a home charging station is relatively inexpensive, and can save you a lot on fluctuating gas prices in the market, which have been frustratingly volatile over the last couple years.

If your primary usage is driving around the city, and you’re looking for a powerful, efficient, sleek SUV, then the Kona is a great choice.

What kind of performance can I expect?

The Kona electric offers a maximum range of 258 miles, which is comparable to sedan EVs, and pretty revolutionary for the SUV category. We’d argue that’s enough to go several days on a single charge. In terms of torque, it offers 291 lb-ft, which gives it a lot of muscle and power.

What does the exterior look like?

Hyundai has recently been knocking it out of the park with their vehicle designs, and the Kona EV is no exception. Its fluid design and accentuated curves turn heads at every corner, and the sleek headlamps give it a rugged but futuristic feel. It’s got modern 17-inch alloy wheels that really stand out, with a wide palette of swatches to choose from. Our favorite is the Cactus Fern with Black Roof. Absolutely gorgeous!

What about the interior?

The interior comes in black or gray, and is built with traditional Hyundai comfort and styling. It’s got a floating center console with a 10.25-inch digital driver information display that we’re big fans of. It gives the front cabin a nice, futuristic feel.

Cargo space comes in at 45.8 cubic feet, which means there’s plenty of room at the back to pack whatever you need.

What other features should I know about?

It’s quiet as a pin drop without sacrificing on power or acceleration or top speed.

Speaking of sounds, the 8-speaker Harman Kardon audio system is a huge plus for us. It’s not something you traditionally associate with a Hyundai, but you won’t hear us complaining over the sound of that crisp, clear music.

Why should I buy with Carolina Hyundai of High Point?

Quite simply, you won’t find service like ours anywhere else. We’ve been serving North Carolina for decades now, and we think of our customers as family. So, don’t hesitate to swing by our Main St. dealership for a test drive of the 2023 Hyundai Kona Electric.
