Differences between the Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport
There are certainly a lot of SUVs available today, and we can understand that it could be difficult to decide between one brand or another based on little nitpicky differences. Fortunately, at Carolina Hyundai of High Point we have two great SUV vehicles that fall under the same name, the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe. But which Santa Fe is right for you? Well allow use to tell you some of the differences between the Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport.

We’ve updated our guide. Check out our new Santa Fe vs Santa Fe Sport post here.
The major difference between the two vehicles is in their sizes. The Santa Fe Sport is the smaller vehicle, and only seats five passengers, while the Santa Fe is capable of seating either 6- or 7-passengers.

When we say that the Santa Fe Sport is smaller, we are only talking about in terms of overall length and wheelbase, as the Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport are still relatively equally sized in height and width. In fact, the front and second row headroom areas are almost the exact same.

The next difference between the two vehicle is under the hood. The 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe comes with a 3.3-liter, 290-horsepower V-6. The Santa Fe Sport, meanwhile, has two engine options, a 2.4-liter, 190-horsepower I-4, and a 2.0-liter, 265-horsepower I-4 Turbo. While the Santa Fe has the advantage in power, the Santa Fe Sport has the advantage in terms of fuel-economy, where it can get an estimate 23-mpg combined rating. The Santa Fe meanwhile, gets an estimated 21-mpg combined rating.

As you can most likely, being the bigger vehicle with a larger engine will usually lead to that vehicle being more expensive and that is no different with the Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport. The Sport has a starting MSRP of $24,950 while the Santa Fe has a starting MSRP of $30,150.

While there are a few difference between the Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport, they also have quite a few similarities. Both are available with all-wheel drive, have an optional panoramic sunroof, steering wheel-mounted controls, optional rearview camera and more.
